I know I'm coming in the discussion, probably in the middle, end or what have you, lol! But I see you mentioned asking pastors about paranormal occurrences. I saw a documentary, a few nights ago, on the History Channel. This argument goes so far back into the middle ages. People, who were thought to be possessed, some were some were not, however, it became a contest between the Catholics and the Prodistants, whose faith was correct, if they were to successfully exorcise the possessed person. They did so by basically beating the "devil" out of them, and eventually Prodistants fell away from it, to an extint. While all the different religions have their own ways, the Catholics are the front leaders. I was raised southern baptist, and when the subject of ghosts come up, it's all demons that are pretending to approach you in a manner in which is acceptable by you, to draw you into hell. Therefore, you don't acknowledge or accept, you just say a prayer to banish it. I guess they perceive it to be playing with the devil. I rambled on and on, I hope it makes sense! Lol!

Some "ghost hunter's" ( I prefer paranormal investigator) do, imply that false hope, but not all. That is why you have to do your homework first, and find the right group for your need.
I agree with John, sometimes it is all about letting the client know that they aren't crazy. And lots of times, we help the client by finding out the logical reasons for their perceived activity. Once someone, has it in their head, that their house/apt/buisness is haunted, every sound they hear is a ghost. Every picture of dust they have, is a ghost. And soon after, fear quickly grows into panic. The mind is a powerful thing. We have helped many clients, some on the site, some not, by finding the root cause of their problems - which was nothing paranormal, and allowed them to live peacefully in their homes again. A case we had a few years ago, consisted of a house that had documented tradgedies occur there. (that was the base of the emotional roller coaster) Then, the filing cabinet drawer would open, on its own (fear is growing at this time). And when a grandchild would visit, the door of then room that he slept in (which was the room in which the tradgedies took place) would shake violently back and forth and the client would hear music coming from the room. When she would lay on her sofa, her hair would be pulled all the time now. (panic is now in the mindset, and logical thinking completly out of the window). When we were called, the client was ready to move out of the house. On our initial investigation, we were able to explain the filing cabinet drawer easily - the house was not completely level (older house on bricks) and when the drawer wasn't closed completely, it slid back open. We also determined that the hair pulling was the folds in the sofa cushions, It pulled my hair too. But, we were not able to find a reason for what she said would happen when the grandchild would come. So we scheduled another investigation - but with the child present. We put our total focus on the child in the room, but ut of respect, did not place the camera on the child - but took turns in the room waiting. I will say, the air conditioner worked well, and was loud (causing white noise), BUT, the air coming out of the vent was 41 degrees. I measured it, because I was so cold (not from paranormal, just to see for personal knowlege) All of a sudden, the "activity" begins. The crib that the child was in, was too small for him. The floor is not level, so the crib is teetering on 3 legs. The air from the air conditioner was blowing directly on the child, who would now kick back and forth, making the crib move, knocking the floorboard, that would cause the door to shake. Mystery solved. This information helped the client feel safer in their house, and not feel the need to sell and move. We were able to solve her ghost problem, by providing the logical and actual reasons for what was happening.

We filmed another episode this passed weekend at the historic Viex Village, in Opelousas, LA. It was a very quiet investigation, minus the cars and bars! Lol! Hopefully we got something on audio . Our most recent episode, filmed at The Abbey Players Theater, in Abbeville, LA, should be hitting the air waves soon! So keep an eye out for us

I actually know where Fordoche is!! I lived there about 13 or so years ago, when I got transferred to New Roads for work. We lived right across from the church. That is such a beautiful area with sooo many places for you to get your feet wet, so to speak. Let me know if you have any questions and I will be more than happy to help you. Welcome to the board!

You really don't want my opinion of the Myrtles! It most definately is moss. Your mind autimatically will matrix what it recognizes. Do you know that there is actually no record of a Chloe ever being there?

Have you been able to listen to the evps yet? One possible reason for the EMF spike could be simple movement of the device. Not to say, that that is what happened. Thanks for all you are doing for us in Iraq!! We have a couple of members that have spent some time there as well. Hope to hear back soon!
