An EVP is only as good as the device recording it. That is why I am very interested in looking into the purchase of a stereo digital voice recorder. Sure, they are more expensive than your standard $30-$50 recorder but the sound quality is amazingly clear. I can only imagine how good an EVP would sound through one of these. Below is a link to a nice one for cheaper than you might expect: www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2864134&CatId=2472

I just purchased one on ebay for a good bit cheaper than most sites. I got it for $84.95.

Let me know if the performance is much better than a standard VR.

Ive never heard an actual EVP from one but I have heard just a regular sound recording and I can tell you the sound isnt even comparable to a standard VR.

Just received the above stereo voice recorder and I cannot tell you how clear the audio is on it! I highly recommend that everyone invest in one due to how clear the recordings sound. It even has a built in noise reduction feature, keeping you from having you to clean up any audio once recorded.
